  • Caralluma Fimbriata Review

    July 17, 2009

Caralluma fimbriata is believed to block the activity of several enzymes that block the formation of fat, which in-turn forces fat reserves to be used. In addition, Caralluma fimbriata is believed to have a direct affect on the appetite and hunger section in one’s brain.

Traditional Indian medicine experts have noted that there are no adverse effects when using Caralluma fimbriata, and the plant has no known toxicity.

“Caralluma has undergone two human double blind, randomized, placebo controlled human clinical trials. Caralluma safety has been reviewed by three toxicology studies done per exacting OECD guidelines and has achieved self-affirmed GRAS [Generally Recognized As Safe] status.”

Take this as you would like but it seems that Caralluma is ready to be one of the new most popular weight loss products. One thing to watch for in the news is how easily this product will be to grow and produce as there are many companies that can package and market and with few if any side effects there will be very little resistance to a “new” indian weight loss product.

    Getting past the plateau

    October 3, 2008

If you have ever dieted you understand what a plateau is. If you don’t know then let me give you a brief overview. A diet plateau is when you reach a point in your diet where you dont lose any weight dispite being faithful to your diet. There are many theories on what cause the plateau but most nutritionist believe that it is because of our bodies believe we are starving ourselves and start to burn our reserve carbs, fats and make proteins for storage. Getting past a plateau takes all the will power you can muster. Why you ask? Well, it is because we begin to crave food at a higher instance. A Pizza Hut can set off a grumbling of immense proportions and we are more likely to give in.

How to get past the plateau? Different strokes for different folks here! You will need to find out what works best for you but here are some ideas. If you don’t see the one you that works for you please chime in and make a comment.

How to get rid of those cravings:

Well you get the point. Plateaus can last up to 1 week and you will feel like quiting your diet. Don’t give up snack small and drink water and before you know it you will be over the plateau losing weight at a quick clip.

Trust in your diet and believe in yourself.

PS Im 20 pounds down now. My diet link can be found on my last post.

    Day 18 the Second Round

    September 12, 2008

Well, Im doing a great job at staying focused on my diet and Im proud to say Im 13 pounds down, Total. I was mentioning that I was wondering if I was at a plateau and Im sure I am. The pounds are not coming off easy right now, so I added some exercise to my diet.

My exercise was not planned however! My water heater started to leak on day 16! I ended up having to get a new one! If you have ever had to replace a water heater you would know that the old one needs to be drained first. My water heater is in the basement which made my job even tougher. It would not let me hook a hose up to it and drain the water through the washer line. I had to carry 5 gallon buckets up the stairs and outside. Truly a great workout. It took about an hour to finish.

My friend works for the water company and has rental houses so hooking up the new one was a piece of cake. It only took 1 hour from buying it to hooking it up and we stopped for a beer when driving home from Sears. Insane!!! I have to praise him because if it was just me Im sure I would still be working on it today.

Back to my diet! Im at the dreaded Plateau, I was hoping it would have taken longer to reach this point so I could have lost more weight but all signs point to me breaking the stalemate soon. I have not been this weight since 2 years ago and Im feeling great!!! Im starting to notice my pants are bagger and my stomach area is feeling stronger. I love it!!! Tonight I might vear away from my diet however. I might have a fish taco down at Anthony’s on the Waterfront.

Days 15-17! Back on the horse!

    September 10, 2008

Starting back on my diet was not too bad this time. I went to my diet generator website Click Here!. I decided to check off less veggies this time because the last diet period had a whole day of eating veggies (which was incredibly tough). The new 11 day plan popped up and I was happy to see that I could eat scrambled eggs and bacon in the morning (Monday).

Day 15 – Like I said I was able to eat scrambled eggs and bacon for b-fast. The rest of the day was Ham Slices, String Cheese and an Apple.

Day 16 – I weighed myself again today and found I lost a pound (9 pounds down now). Today was an all fruit day, well almost all day their was a sandwich at the end of the day! I started with a Grapefruit and an Orange, Grapes and an Apple for lunch another orange after lunch and a sandwich for dinner I made a small sandwich with the tri-tip steak I had left over from my 3 day bliss binge. While tri-tip is not on my list I still ate it because of the tough diet day.

Day 17 – The weigh in: 2 pounds down! I’m back at my weight that I had before my 3 free days (11 pounds down). I was extremely happy to see that I continue to lose weight! My goal is 40 pounds by Febuary. Todays diet started with Hard boiled eggs and coffee with Splenda. I had string cheese for my snack, my lunch will be ham slices and my dinner will be chicken. I’m feeling much more energy lately. My wife has noticed and is proud of me but I’m happy too! I’m waking up in the morning alert and ready to jump on the scale which is now loosing its dust.

Im still waiting for my plateau that one hits when dieting. Ill tell you how that goes when I hit it. Otherwise Talk to you soon! Again here is the info if you would like to check out the diet. Click Here!.

3 days of Bliss! What will it cost me.

Well, it is Monday again and it is time to restart my diet! In my last blog I stated that I lost 11-12 pounds. That did not change on Friday morning, which made me happy because I started my 3 days off a bit early with a Quarter Pounder with Cheese the night before. In any case, I had a wonderful weekend. All my favorite foods were present and eaten!

Friday our “Sunshine Committee” gave us muffins for breakfast. I ate one all day long. I stayed with the basic diet food for lunch with Turkey slices, Grapes and String cheese. I did have another quarter of a muffin because they were right in front of me. Ahhhh the temptation.

Saturday started with a small omelet (not to bad). Lunch was a Katie Down’s Pizza, which if you live in Tacoma and have not tried is a must! Loaded with cheese, white sauce, black olives, chicken and artichoke hearts it definitely will make you feel stuffed. I ended the day by eating a Chicken Tender Crisp from BK (which is amazing by the way). Sunday was strange, I had scrambled eggs and ham for b-fast, Fish and Chips for Lunch and a Tri-Tip steak and Potato for dinner. MMMMMM goooodddd! What kind of diet is this your saying!!! It is a low carb diet that allows you to diet for 11 days and then have 3 days free! I loved the weekend! If you want more info…Click Here!.

What was the cost of this 3 days of bliss you ask. Three pounds was the cost. According to the diet that I am one the 3 days off is important in making your body understand that it will still need to digest fats and carbs along with proteins.

So right now I am 8-9 pounds down.

Day 11! The final day before my freedom!

    September 5, 2008

Well it is here!!! Day 11! So what you say!

Well, let me tell you I have been dieting for 11 days straight, no Bread, no pizza, no burgers, no ice cream, no beer… (well that last one is a lie).

I have to tell you that this diet is working. I For the last 3 days since my last post I have lost 4 more pounds which brings me to a total of 12 pounds. 1 more then the stated amount that the diets author claims!!! This diet is much like other low carb, high protein diets out there but with the exception that you get to choose some of your favorite foods and can eat them in any order on the menu list that is generated for you by the “Diet Generator” for more info.Click Here!.

I am happy to see my pants needing a belt and seeming baggier every day. I’m happy to start to feel more energy during the day and I am glad to have my self confidence start to come back.

    My goal???

40 pounds by my 40th birthday. I’ve got a great start. So far, I have lost 12 pounds in 11 days (maybe some more weight will be lost over night). I did slip and have a burger for dinner tonight. I feel stuffed! And a little guilty to but man that quarter pounder with cheese was tasty! I’m happy I said no the the fries and soft drink, Im literally stuffed!

What comes next? Well I get the next three days off. I am able to eat what ever I want. My wife is worried that I am going to pig out. Tell you the truth so do I! After the 3 days I have to generate a new menu and start all over. So far so good. Ill stick it out. Besides shopping for food has never been easier.

Again check out the site, you might want to give it a try.Click Here!. Talk to you soon and have a great weekend.

    Diet update day 4 – 8!

    September 2, 2008

My sister emailed me and asked why we started our diet when we have a 3 day weekend. Im starting to wonder that myself. I went to a barbeque on Sunday and am feeling guilty about over indulging today for yesterday. I stuck to the foods I could eat but it was not on the day I can eat them. So far I am 8 pounds down on day 8. This amount is right on-line with what the diet advertises. To get more information on my diet Click Here!.

Update of Day 4: School started for the kids at Pioneer Middle School in DuPont, Washington. I was a bit stressed out but had a decent breakfast, ate Cashews for my mid-morning meal and Turkey Slices and for lunch. I came home and had some Chicken for dinner. Not exactly what is on the menu but very close. I did not eat my veggies. (Im thinking I should probably get a vitamin supplement. Im not huge on Veggies. One bad thing about today was that our friend from town was celebrating his 80th birthday. Anne, my wife, made her famous crab and artichoke dip (which is to die for!) I ended up having a couple beers and a few items that are not on my list (again). But, I kept the items to protein items, which I hope will work out in the end.

Update of Day 5: 2nd day of School and I seem to be falling into the pattern of eating on this diet. I ate a half a grapefruit in the morning (why one calls it a Grapefruit still puzzles me). I had Peanuts for my mid-morning meal, Turkey slices for lunch and I came home and made Scrambled Eggs for my dinner. Again nothing spectacular but I was able to catch up on some much needed sleep.

Day 6: Saturday, I woke up made some Coffee and Hard Boiled some Eggs. I ate Cashews for my mid-morning meal, an Orange and some Grapes for my lunch and a piece of chicken for my dinner.

Day 7: Sunday, my day of sin. I started the day out really well eating the right foods (Scrambled eggs and Bacon, Peanuts, Turkey Slices) but the night brought us to our friends BBQ. Our Friends live about 40 minutes away so we decided to spend the night and have some fun. I ended up drinking Bud Light Lime and eating BBQ-ed chicken and ribs. I also had a side Salad (light dressing) and a Corn on the Cob oh yeah I also had some Shrimp Cocktail. I think if anything the Bud Light put me over. Tonight I had a huge craving for the bread that they bought, a garlic ciabatta bread. I did not have any but it hurt just to look at it.

Day 8: This morning we left our friends house at about 7:30 am. My wife and I pulled in and I directly went to my computer to see what kind of food I can have for the day. Hoping for scrambled eggs and bacon, I was sad to see that it is an all veggie day. My stomach is crying for hangover food and I am stuck with VEGGIES!!!! AHHHHH!!! As I write this blog I am dreaming about hamburgers or a cheesy pizza. One consolation that I did have today that is not on the veggie list is my wife’s stuffed mushrooms. I hope it doesn’t ruin the day!!!!

    Day 3 Being Flexible!

    August 31, 2008

Well it is my last offical work day before students arrive for school. I work at a brand new school in DuPont Washington called Pioneer Middle School (Go Pirates!).

The diet day started off with Scrambled Eggs and Bacon, which was not bad except I bought the pre cooked bacon that Oscar Meyer makes for sandwiches (I would not recommend it). I got cleaned up and weighed my self and found out that I lost 1 pound! Not bad so far. I grabbed my coffee with Splenda and I was out the door.

Being in a new school can be exciting and wonderful. Instructors have all new rooms, new equipment and well a new look upon teaching. I teach Computer Technology so I was very excited! New toys to play with. BUT being in a new school also means a lot of issues. My room has no teacher computer and is missing the software that I asked for last year. In addition, the computer tech department has decided to use my room for their home base, writing on all the white boards except for one small one in the corner. As the training day went on I began to wonder what the heck am I going to do for the first day. I had planned to use all the new software and equipment. I started to stress which makes me hungry right off. I ate some grapes that I brought and an apple which I found to be very filling. I’m beginning to have a new found love for good apples.

Today the school also has its open house starting at 4 and ending at 6. I planned to grab something to eat around 3:30 and then at 6:30 when I get home. Well, my plan fell apart like my lessons for the week. Someone locked the staff room where I kept my turkey slices! You bet I was pissed! I searched for the custodian but he was busy cleaning the gym. I ended up eating more peanuts and a few cashews that were left in my closet from yesterday. Not very filling at all! I then ran to the gym where everyone was meeting for introductions and a short speech about how the building is not really done but ready for kids.

The open house went well, big turn out, probably around 1000 people walked through to check things out. Students were excited and so were their parents. After all they would not have to find things for their kids to do during the day anymore.

I ended up coming home and eating Roast Beef Slices and having the “Taboo” beer (got to unwind somehow).

Today I found out flexibility is a necessity in dieting. You might have to change what you eat but it is important to still eat what is on your list. Not as affective yes but still reasonable.

Day 2 Its all about the Fruit!

    August 27, 2008

Day 2 started slowly! I woke up and searched for my clothes that was piled outside of the dryer, I forgot about the laundry that I finished the previous night. After picking out what I was going to wear for my 2nd day back to school (Im a teacher), I decided to step on the scale and see if the new diet had any effect. I’m happy to say that I lost 3 pounds.

Day 1 seemed pretty easy so I was looking forward to see what type of menu was in-store for me today. I brought up my computer screen that has the diet menus saved to the desktop and low and behold it was a “FRUIT” day. The day consisted of 3 meals of fruit and 1 sandwich and I must say it was extremely tough. Breakfast was fine, I had a cup of coffee and a grapefruit but the mid-morning meal and lunch was tough because I felt the cravings coming on. I dreamt about pizza and burgers and all those wonderful foods. Then the hunger kicked in!!!! I started to eat some strawberries then I switched to grapes then to an apple (the apple was a wonderful organic Fuji) and the hunger went away. At the end of my work day (just about lunch time) I decided to have some more grapes and an orange. The orange tasted great and really filled me up. BUT by dinner time I was starving again and could not wait for that sandwich. I followed all my directions for making my ham and tomato sandwich and found that I couldn’t even eat the whole thing (I was very surprised because I can usually take down a foot long meatball sandwich from Subway). Even though I could not finish the sandwich I have to say that first bite was amazing!!!

I hope day 3 is more filling then today, which I must say was very tough.

After a day ones menu (See the menu post), day 2 was tough.
